                                       DEN & PACK MEETING DATES

All meetings will take place on Tuesday evenings at the McComb Church of Christ on Ackerly Street off of Oliver Street.  All den meetings
and outings that take place outside of regularly scheduled meetings must be cleared through the Cubmaster, Greg Smith and the Den
Leader will then call all parents reference the change of date and time.  Den Meetings and Pack Meetings times are listed below.  Please
note the time changes for Sept. and Oct. (marked *) due to Sports Activities.

If your Scout misses a meeting or any part of a meeting, please get with the Den Leader and find out want needs made up to complete
achievements or electives that may have been missed.

*** FOR ANY REASON THAT SCHOOL IS CANCELED, THERE WILL BE NO SCOUT MEETINGS OR EVENT ON THAT SAME DATE.  IT WILL

                                                        SPECIAL EVENT DATES

Please mark your calendars for all of these upcoming events.  I hope that all scouts and parents can be a part of or attend all events this
year.  This is why I am posting the dates in advance, so we can all make scouting a priority, for our scouts and the
community…                                         

The dates listed below are for the major events that happen outside of the den and pack meetings.

Flag Detail at ALL - Home Panther Football Games- /  Scouts will meet at the ticket gate at approx. 6:20 pm and wait for further
instructions. Please wear your uniform and get in for free!!

October 1st – Start Selling Popcorn on this day - You should have gotten the paperwork in the mail.  If not, contact Jim Rode or Greg for
the forms.

October 27th – End of Popcorn Sales-Contact Jim Rode with money and turn in paperwork for the deadline, so popcorn can be ordered,
and picked up at the church upon delivery.

November 1st – Fall Trash Clean Up in the Park and around Town

November 6th & 7th- Fall Camp Out at Camp Berry / Fun for all / Camp in a cabin, no fees required, but your are required to have fun,
play games, sing songs, and cook on a campfire.

December 15th – Christmas Party / Pot Luck.  All Families Please bring 1 hot, 1 cold dish and table service.

February 23rd – Blue and Gold Banquet / Pot Luck.  All Families Please bring 1 hot,1 cold dish and table service.

March 2nd – Start your engines!! - Pack-Pinewood Derby Race at the Church / Please bring 1 snack per family.

March 6th – Starts Scouting for Food- Pass Out Bags to all Village Residents

March 13th – Ends Scouting for Food- Go and Collect all bags and food to turn in

March 20th – Spring Trash Clean Up in the Park and around Town

March 26th & 27th – Spring Camp Out at Camp Berry- We hope to have more scouts and parents than the Fall Camp Out, again no fees
required, but be prepared for hiking, fishing and playing games.

April or May – Pleasant Township-Roadside Clean-up -  Date to be announced

ALL OF THE ABOVE EVENTS WILL HAVE FURTHER INFORMATION SENT TO YOU, TO REMIND YOU OF THE EVENT AND WITH TIMES &
AGENDAS AS NEEDED.

Welcome to our new year in scouting!

1)   Our first den meeting is this coming Tuesday, September 15th at 7:00pm.  

2)   A 2009-2010 schedule of meeting dates is included with this newsletter.  Mark your calendars with all the Special Dates to remember.

3)   Leaders!  Make sure to pass award information to JIM RODE.  

4)  Scouts!  If you have any friends who would like to join cub scouts, bring them and their
parents to the pack meeting with you.  The cost to join scouts is $30.  This includes a
handbook and all the awards they will earn.  If a scout participates in the fundraisers, he will
not have to pay annual fees again.

All Scout Parents,

I am typing this letter to remind all parents of 1st year scouts that you can purchase items for your scout at the Scout Shop on Broad Ave. in
Findlay, OH.  Some of the items you will need are:  Book, 1st Grade are Tigers, 2nd Grade are Wolf, 3rd Grade are Bear, and 4th Grade
are Webelo I, and 5th Grade are Webelo II, you will need corresponding neckerchief and clasp and shirt with patches.  You will not need to
buy a hat or belt unless you want to.  Some of the awards are belt loops and fit on the scout belt, better than other belts.

When you go to the Scout Shop, you just tell the clerk that your Scout is with McComb Pack 335 and she will get all the patches around and
tell you where they need to go or give you the diagram of patch placement.  The diagram is also in your scout book.

Then for each continued year in scouts, you and your scout will not have to purchase the book, neckerchief and clasp as long as you sell
popcorn, nor will you have to pay to re-register your scout.  BUT if you don’t sell popcorn, you will have to buy these items at the scout shop
for your child to continue in scouting.  I will have some items on sale from the Scout Shop, if you can’t get to the Findlay during the day.

The books will be needed by the end of this month so that you and your scout can work on the projects and so the Den Leaders can mark
things off that have been completed at Den Meeting, Summer Camp, and at Home.  Reminder: that if fees are not paid tonight, they are due
no later than the September Pack Meeting.

Some popcorn forms will be mailed out by district. Popcorn will be sold from Oct. 1st to Oct 27th with the turn in date as Oct 27th Pack
Meeting.

The next meeting I will distribute a list with all of the Den Leaders and their contact information.  We are still adjusting leaders around and
chair-people reference some of the committees.  Anyone who would like to be on a committee, like camping events, Pinewood Derby, X-Mas
party, Blue and Gold banquet, trash pick up, or parades/float, please contact me at one of the meetings or call me at 419-293-1018.

We would like to thank all community members who helped support our popcorn sales for 2009.  Our Pack sold over $11,000 in
popcorn and this will assist in our camping trips and awards programs.  Anyone who may have any old scout items, like shirts,
pins, belt loops, neckerchiefs, clasps, etc., please contact me at 419-293-1018 so those items can be picked up and recycled in
the pack.

The Webelos in our pack are having a fund raiser to assist in their cross over to Boy Scouts.  They are selling $10.00 cards to
Stevie B's in which you can obtain free tokes and buffet meals.  You can get an item each month.  Please call me at
419-293-1018 inf you are willing to purchase the card to assist them in their advancement.
