Community Calendar - 2011 McComb Village Council The McComb Village Council meets one time a month. Meeting are scheduled on the 2nd Monday evening of each month at 7:30 pm. These meetings are open to the public as well as any committee meetings that are posted. All meetings are posted in five locations around the Village according to the Ohio Revised Code (O.R.C.) for your reference. The posting places are Great Scot Supermarket, McComb Public Library, the Administration office, the Post Office and First Federal Bank. These postings give the time, place and topics or agenda for the meeting. You, as a resident, are welcome to attend any of these posted meetings and are allowed to speak of the issue being discussed, at Council’s or the chairpersons discretion. Village Brush Pick Up Village Brush Pick Up will be the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Please bring items to the curb and remember NO PLASTIC BAGS. Items in plastic bags will NOT be picked up! ******************************************************************************************************************************************************* McComb Community Food Pantry 2012 dates: Food giveaways are all 1:00-2:00 Feb.18th Mar 17th April 21st May 19th June 16th July 21st Aug 18th Sept 15th Oct 20th Nov 17th Dec 15th We also have March 18th open 1:00 to 2:00 for clothes and miscellaneous items to giveaway and Dec 16th open 3:00 to 5:00 for toys and clothes. November 2nd and 3rd at the church will be a Christmas Bazaar to benefit the Food Pantry. McComb Athletic Boosters Annual Reverse Raffle Saturday, March 31, 2012; Meal: 5 p.m. Cost $50.00 per ticket which includes one meal. Extra meal tickets are $20.00 each. $100 Early Bird Special Drawings will be held at the McComb boys basketball game on February 10 (Cory Rawson), so get your tickets today! Farmers Market The McComb Lions Club will be sponsoring their Annual McComb Area Farmer’s Market. The farmer’s market is open to all fruit and vegetable producers, art, dried flowers, baked goods and homemade crafts, who reside in the McComb and/or surrounding areas. Market days will be each Saturday through the middle of October. The times of the market will be from 9:00 am until noon. The market will be located at shelter house #1 located at the north end of the park, by the water treatment plant. NO FLEA MARKET ACTIVITIES WILL BE PERMITTED There will be a weekly fee of $5.00 per vendor or a one time fee of $20.00 for all season. Contact Lion Terri Thomas (419) 306-1274 for more information McComb Rotary Open Golf The McComb Rotary will be hosting and celebrating its Annual McComb Rotary Open at Shady Acres Golf Course here in McComb. This golf tournament is open to the public and all is welcome and encouraged to participate. All proceeds from this outing supports the McComb Rotary Scholarship Fund. This outing is open to all golfers, We hope to see all who attended last year along with some new friends. More information on this fun filled event will be in the next newsletter or you can contact any McComb Rotary member. Community Garage Sales McComb Cookie Festival The McComb Cookie Festival is scheduled to be held in August. The annual festival will include a parade, food vendors, kids games, softball tournaments, cookie judging, chicken barbecue, a raffle and much more! Fall Clean Up The Village workers will be picking up brush, limbs, leaves and any other yard waste. These items must be brought to the curb to be picked up. Items in plastic bags will not be picked up. Remember, the Village brush pile is open for any Village resident to drop off their items in the properly marked locations back at the Waste Water Treatment Plant located back the lane off of Scott Street. The Village asks that signs be read and items be dropped off at the proper place. Thanks for your attention to this Village service. Trick or Treat Night in McComb The Halloween celebration will begin with Trick-or-Treat followed by a parade. |
