                                       Our Village

Located at the eastern edge of the Grand Prairie, McComb is a quiet village
occupying just 0.91 square miles in Pleasant Township, Hancock County, Ohio.  The
comfortable, easy lifestyle of McComb is enhanced by a temperate climate that
provides dry, moderate summers and crisp, cold winters filled with postcard images of
snow on the empty fields.  The variety of hardwoods and evergreens prevalent in the
area make the fall a season resplendent with vibrant colors.  In the springtime
farmers working on tractors in the fields are a common sight.  McComb is located in
the heart of farm country.

The village itself provides locals with most of the necessities and pleasures of living
with a grocery, a bank, medical offices, two pizzerias and a carry-out.  There is a
florist shop, a large furniture store, an antiques dealer and a bar.  The barber shop
on Main street is an excellent place to talk about farming, racing or sports.   The local
schools are always a source of pride for the educational excellence as well as the
spirited athletics.

There is a lovely park with modern playground equipment and a spanking new pool
with a 100-foot twisting water slide.  The two reservoirs provide a great place for folks
to spend a quiet summer day fishing.  The ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts
and other facilities are usually busy with summertime fun.  McComb boasts the only
Bocce court within 50 miles.  On Saturdays, in the summer, there is a farmer's market
where people go to buy locally grown produce and fresh, home-baked goods

Holidays in McComb are occasions for celebration.  The village holds a parade for
Independence Day, Memorial Day and Halloween.  The biggest party is the annual
Cookie Fest.  The largest employer in McComb is the Hearthside Food Solutions, a
large commercial bakery that makes cookies.  Most people simply call it  "The
Cookie".  When the wind is just right, the air is filled with the homey fragrance of
baking cookies.

McComb is a lovely, secure place to live, where the pace is easy and the people
smile with good grace and Midwestern values
