                                  Council News

January 25, 2010

A new business is planning to open offices in McComb in late March or early
April.  Scott Bennett, a graduate of McComb, is the owner of Solutions, a
company in Findlay that maintains foreclosed properties for federal
agencies.  The company, which will operate out of the old Little & Sons
property on Bond Preble, preserves properties and ensures that local codes
are met.   The business will employ 10 to 15 people.  The council has started
the necessary paperwork and public hearings will have to be held to change
the zoning of the property from residential to business.

The council has, once again, reaffirmed its stand on utility shut-off dates.
The Water, Sewer and Gas Committee recommended that the shut-off date
on the notice be enforced.

Eagle Scout Project to Benefit the Football Field
Hi, my name is Taylor Reardon and I am currently working with Mr. Woolf on
my Eagle Scout project. My project will consist of digging up the main
entrance to the McComb High School football field and replacing the loose
stones with sturdy brick pavers. Some of the bricks will be solid colored, and
I am hoping to mix in some personalized bricks. Each personalized brick will
be 4x8, can have 3 lines of information, and can have 18 characters (any
space, # or punctuation mark counts as a character) per line. You can fill up
these lines with family names, memorials, and dedications. If you are
interested in being a part of this project, please click here for the
order form
and return it with cash or check payment to the Middle School or High school
office, Attn: Mr. Woolf. Orders are due by February 22, so that we may get
the bricks ordered and be ready to start the project in early spring. Please
be sure to print CLEARLY. If you have any questions, please feel free to
contact me at 419-293-2043 or Mr. Woolf at 419-293-3161. Thanks for your
support and Go Panthers!
